This clip was shared with us for an in-depth review. After carefully analyzing the footage, we noticed a key detail—the shooter’s motion was noticeably different from his usual form. Studying game film and observing warm-ups can provide valuable insights into player tendencies, helping officials make more informed decisions on the court.
Reviewing multiple angles confirmed that the call was consistent with #NFHS guidelines. We commend the referee for maintaining strong positioning, staying engaged, and demonstrating excellent court awareness. His effort and focus were evident throughout the game.
That said, this call presents a challenge. While there’s a strong possibility of a flop, we acknowledge a slight chance of contact on the shooter’s right arm—adding complexity to the decision.
At C.O.R. Academy, we aim to provide objective analysis to help officials improve. A key takeaway? The trail referee might benefit from positioning at the 28-foot mark for a clearer perspective in future games. However, overall positioning was solid.
Tough calls define great officials, and in this intense matchup, the crew handled it with confidence and professionalism.
Final Verdict: 90/10
